The South African Project: Setting a Firm Foundation for a Fruitful Future

South Africa is a country with enormous potential, though there are some key issues that need to be resolved before we can, as a whole, reach that potential. Lanham-Love Consulting, a 73.57% Black Owned, Level 2 BEE Exempt Micro Enterprise based in Saxonwold, Johannesburg, is determined to help South Africa, and her people, reach that potential.

“My colleagues and I, at Lanham-Love Consulting, have long argued for the wide involvement of every South African in what we call The South African Project,” says Angie Lanham-Love, CEO of Lanham-Love Consulting. “This project seeks to bring all South Africans, both in the public and private sector, together to work on our current issues so we can face the challenges that will come in the future collectively, effectively and cohesively.”

“But, for The South African Project to work effectively, it is imperative that we have a firm foundation on which to build,” says Lanham-Love. “This firm foundation begins with a strategic approach that will map out the way forward. For example, through our work with our affiliate, The LLC Academy, Lanham-Love Consulting offers businesses the opportunity to maximise their B-BBEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment) benefit through the implementation of skills development across all echelons of their business –

For South Africa to have a fruitful future, we need to cultivate and grow her people, from the grassroots up. “This is why Lanham-Love Consulting is so focused on programmes such as The YOUᵀᴴ Programme,” says Lanham-Love. “This programme seeks to address South Africa’s unemployment problem by connecting unemployed graduates and school leavers to corporates who will provide them with the relevant work experience and training.”

“The YOUᵀᴴ Programme does not only benefit these graduates,” says Lanham-Love. “Running a graduate programme can be expensive, and many companies do not have capacity to implement an effective graduate programme without dedicated staff to manage the roll out. This programme is a sustainable solution for all companies too, wherein the companies involved can train potential future staff into the roles that need to be fulfilled. Furthermore, The LLC Academy provides coaching and support to learners to develop them holistically.”

“The South African Project seeks to benefit all South Africans, while we work together to make a better life for all of us,” says Lanham-Love. “This is why we are so determined to develop and support those projects that uplift and educate the youth of South Africa, while providing a substantial return on B-BBEE investment for those companies and corporates who are willing to get involved and see the overall benefit of investing in the future of this country.”

LLC is perfectly positioned to ensure comprehensive B-BBEE compliance.

This means companies, B-BBEE consultants and B-BBEE Verification agents collaboratively need to change the way they operate in the B-BBEE environment. We believe we are at the forefront of this change in methodology which creates B-BBEE flexibility, excellence and ultimately “peace of mind regarding B-BBEE fronting and compliance”.
